DANI VEIGA
is a Spanish clarinetist
He finished his studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón where he graduated with Highest Distinction. Then followed a master in performance at the ESART-Castelo Branco in Portugal and a master in Orchestral performance at the UNIA and Barenboim-Said Foundation.
He has attended instrumental courses and masterclasses with distinguished teachers such as Walter Boeykens, Yehuda Gilad, Wenzel Fuchs, François Benda, Fabrizio Meloni, Andreas Sundén, Arno Piters, António Saiote, Joan Enric Lluna, Enrique Pérez Piquer, Darío Mariño, Carlos Alves, Carlos Casadó and Juan Ferrer.
He has been a student at Escola de Altos Estudos Musicais in Santiago de Compostela.
Daniel has been a member of the National Spanish Youth Orchestra (JONDE), Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Xenakis Project Orchestra and Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie during the Klangspuren Festival in Innsbruck in Austria. He has also collaborated with the Real Filharmonía de Galicia , Cadaqués Orchestra, Spanish Philarmonic Orchestra, ORA Symphony Orchestra, Enara Quintet, Bayona Ensemble, Vertixe Sonora Ensemble….
His solo appearances include Wind Orquestra of the CSMA performing L. Bernstein “Prelude, Fugue and Riffs”, Camerata Aragón performing W.A. Mozart “Concerto Kv 622” and Jove Orquestra Intercomarcal performing «Crusell op.5».
Dani won several scholarship such as Ibercaja scholarship for continuing higher studies, and the “Academic Merit Award” from the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco. He also won the 1st Prize in the JOIC Solo Competition in Vila-Seca (Tarragona) and the 3rd Prize in the International Backun Competition in Canena (Jaén)
Dani is the solo clarinet of the Sinfónica Ciudad de Zaragoza, tutti clarinet in the Ciudad de Oviedo Concert Band and the conductor of the Vilalba Concert Band (Lugo) and he was also working as a clarinet teacher at the Bravo! Espacio Música Conservatory in Huesca, the Xan Viaño Professional Conservatory in Ferrol (A Coruña) the Xoán Montes Professional Conservatory in Lugo and the Vila de Cedeira Concert Band (A Coruña)
